AFTER ALL - THE VERMIN BREED

DOCKYARD 1
METAL TO INFINITY
Not so familiar with a band called After All? Here's some background information. Well, there from West part of Belgium, named Bruges and are busy playing a real form of Metal music in its puriest form. No bullshit, only true Metal totally inspired by eighties great ones!
First release ever was a 7 "EP called "Dusk" in 1992, followed by their debut album entitled "Wonder" in 1995. That was only just the beginning of a precious Metal career cause at least six more CDs and vinyl releases saw the light of day, before 2005. Walked as many stages as possible over the years and played with bands like Saxon, Seven Witches, Psychotic Waltz, Angel With, Overkill, Anthrax, Helstar, Destruction, Therion, Anathema and many, many more. They developed a strongful live reputation and everywhere they've played, the crowd was very pleased and kept on banging their heads durinf After All's live performances.
Early 2005, they had the possiblitie signing a record deal with German label Dockyard 1. They were able and interested in working on a new album of these Belgian Metal maniacs. The new After All album is finally done and unleashed! Guess what true Metal maniacs!!...This is an excellent CD for all those who likes old school Bay Area Thrash or Classic Metal. The in 2003 released album "Mercury Rising" was very well but the new one knocks me out of control. We had several great Metal outfits during the 80s such as: Cyclone, Crossfire, Killer, Acid, Thunderfire, Ostrogoth, Asphyxia, Ritual...and it's good te see there are still bands here in Belgium never let loose the old school Metal tradition.
One of the nowadays bands with the heart on the right place is definitely After All. Metal and nothing but true Metal is their goal and that results in some greatful things. When i've heard "The Vermin Breed" for the first time, i was excited and my needs for 80s Thrash Metal was fulfilled in no time. First two song "Forgotten" and "Maze Of Being" are real fast ones, influenced by bands like early Metallica / Exodus/ Anthrax, Atrophy, Cyclone, Agent Steel, Whiplash, Holy Terror and so on. This is what we need, this is what we like, this is Metal the way is should be!! Than we have a few awesome lower and up-tempo songs too but my attention fell on more faster ones like "Unnamed Sorrow", "Deny The Dream" and "Downward".
Riffings of both Dries Van Damme / Christophe Depree are pure eighties inspired and some of the solo works reminds me of ex-Cyclone guitar players Pascal VanLint & Johnny Kerbush. Damn, those were the days everything was so pure, remember? Vocalist of After All sounds has some kind of a raw vocals like Bob Mayo (ex-Wargasm) or Steve Souza (Meliah Rage)and that's more than great to me. I don't want forget to mention bass player Erwin Casier and the man behind the drum kit Kevin Strubbe cause these fellas delivering greatful duties too.
So, nothing more to say than praising words about a great album of a precious Belgian Metal band After All who's going on tour real soon with 'The Masters Of Metal', Agent Steel!
