ARREST - NIGHT STALKER

To be honest, i never heard of this band untill the day a package was dropped in my postal mail box sent by someone of the Mausoleum Records department. The included biography of Arrest told me that the band was formed in September 1992 somewhere in Hanau, Germany and that the line up is totally changed after twelve years of existence. Three founding members, Ralf Weber (bass / backing vocals), Frank Dolesczik (guitars / backing vocals) and Alex Weinrauch (lead vocals, keys and piano) are still in the band nowadays.
Arrest's original frontman left the band in 1999 and actually not replaced. The man who took over the singing job was Alex. Also their original drummer Norbert Eckert stepped out of the band in 2002 and replaced by a new skin basher named Jerry M? The biography also told me Arrest released two other albums before. "Incarnated" in 1999 and "The Difference" in 2002. Some critical acclaims from their home country's media led the band to a record deal with Mausoleum Records.
Well, the band's new album "Night Stalker" is nothing but a real piece of Power / Heavy Metal with some progressive influences. They've created a style not so easy to compare with other Metal bands, so be sure these guys are quite original. At least, the term 'original' is something very hard to say about many bands showing up the last few years. Arrest brings us straight forward, joyful and variable heavy minded music ranges from good old Hard Rock to Power, Heavy and some parts of Progressive Metal played in several tempo's.
Up-tempo as well as mid-tempo tracks with screaming guitars, hard pounding drums and great vocals surrounded by thunder bass lines. All is included to make the album gives me a real good feeling. Arrest developped an excellent sound through the years and i hope that "Night Stalker" can count on the support of all you true Metal Maniacs. Real Metal with an older feeling still lives on and on in a band called Arrest!!
