Brothers in arms Dale (Vocals) and Troy Thompson (Guitars) are the original founders of Bride, and they once again composed 12 songs that definitely will re-awaken the Bride fans. Since their legendary ''Snakes In The Playground'', the expectations were tautly and highly anticipated.
''Skin For Skin'' has a December 2006 release date and the 14 tracks on this release are powerful from first to last second. Die hard fans of Bride might have bought the ''Best Of Bride'' DVD, which was shoot in Brazil and covered over 90 minutes of footage of the band. There is also a DVD release about the making of ''Skin For Skin'', including footage from the studio during the recording process as well excerpts of Bride's 2005 Brazilian tour with Alex Thompson on drums. For those who are interested, Alex is the oldest son of vocalist Dale Thompson, while Dale is being asked to join Stryper!
The songs on ''Skin For Skin'' are diverse, heavy and straight into your face! Guest musician Steve Osborne plays guitar solos on specified songs, and this is a new talent in the world of shredders! Its refreshing and instigating, it has balls and will turn on a headbanging pit at live gigs!
The melodic hard rock of Bride has a small of piece of metal as ingredient, and the convincing vocals give an extra touch to the songs. Retroactive Records can be proud on this kind of bands and releases. The whole package is well informed, there is a full color 6 pages booklet and the sound of the disc is just awesome.
People that like to read the lyrics will be disappointed because they are missing. But if you do a little effort, it's not hard to follow them. Lyrical topics are mainly about religion and God so you'll have an idea about that item as well.
