DESTRUCTOR - STORM OF STEEL

AUBURN RECORDS

METAL TO INFINITY

22 Years ago, these Cleveland-Ohio based Thrash Metal bombadeers came show up with an 'everything devastating' album entitled "Maximum Destruction", released through Mr. Bill Peters and his own record label named Auburn Records! Unforgettable this album, it's just like it was a yesterday release. Definitely one of the best US Thrash Metal albums ever, at least - that's what i think of it!

In the late eighties, original former Pat, Dave and Matt has say good-bye to their dear Brother Of Metal named Dave 'Holocaust' Iannicca, Destructor's bass player who had to leave this globe because of unforeseen circumstances. This great musician was stabbed to death. We will never forget Dave and lives on in the hearts of the true forever!! In spite of this tragic lost, a silence decreased concerning the remaining members but they fought back, just as Dave wants it i assume, many years later in 2003 Destructor's comeback was a fact with the release of "Sonic Album" by Auburn Records. A new bassist was founded by the name of Jamie Boulder. It was a pleasure to have Destructor back among us and "Sonic Bullet" made the Thrash Metal community completely satisfied!

Dressed in leather and chains, Destructor was back on the trax kicking ass to the extreme! Charged with an extra dose of flameable energy, plans were forged to make new songs for a brand new full length album. At a lot of festivals or concerts in the world, Destructors stood on the bill to provide the die-hard worshippers of this genre an evening of unwarped, Bay Area styled Thrash Metal! One of those festivals they showed up was the Keep It True Festival, 2007 edition in Germany. Just like Headbangers Open Air, one of the greatest Metal events of this sphere. It was great to welcome a band like Destructor and especially for this years edition, they played a 2007 Keep It True Version of that awesome song called 'Storm Of Steel'. This song has been recorded and is the opener of the EP also.

Next songs 'Tear Down The Heavens' and 'World Of War' are from the forthcoming new effort entitled "Forever In Leather" which will be unleashed late October 2007 through Auburn Records! An honest and well recommendation is to keep your eyes open wide to this release. These two songs blows you away, knocks you outta control in no time. Like Nasty Savage ever sang in a track called 'Metal Knights' and I cite: ...'Time to put on studs and leather - time to go out into some heavy weather"... You're warned so stand sharp and be prepared for a unique Thrash Metal blast!!

More rare items featured on the "Storm Of Steel" EP are the demo and previously unreleased track "We Are Ready" plus two magnificent live versions of 'Sonic Bullet' and 'Storm Of Steel'. Last song means a lot to me, it's the "Heavy Artillery" (Metal compilation on Auburn Records) of 'Storm Of Steel', originally released in 1990. Awesome because of Dave 'Holocaust' Iannicca presence! Spoken of a clincher with much of appreciation...this is one for sure.

Well, conclusion is that this limited edition of "Storm Of Steel" has left behind some special marks on my Metal soul at first, secondly and as mentioned before...watch out for their new output "Forever In Leather" which becomes a highly recommended disc for all into US Thrash Metal music. The legend lives on and on!!!  MY POINTS: 95 / 100
