GHOST MACHINERY - HAUNTING REMAINS

SOUND RIOT RECORDS

METAL TO INFINITY

They're from Finland and actually formed by Burning Point's guitarist / vocalist Pete Ahonen. True Power Metal fanatics knows him as a great singer / axeman. Put a guitar in his hands and there will be magic in the air! Also his way of singing is excellent and might brings you all in a trance. Tapsa Pelkonen is in charge for all the bass lines and Jussi Untero joined the ranks as keyboard player / drummer. As you can see, the band consists of only three guys but they're overloaded with talent.

About the band's music style, i can tell you to be ready for some good Euro Power Metal played in a very melodic, professional way with Progressive or AOR vibes sometimes. Production loud and clear (like most of the nowadays Power Metal band) but as i mentioned in a few previous reviews i've made...Ive heard it all before and it doesn't sounds very new to me. It really don't gives me thrills while listening at but i still have a lot of respect for this way of Metal music.

We all know that this kinda music is delivered by numerous other bands the last few years and to speak for myself, some albums became monotone, even a bit predictable. I will seperate the PM scene in two categories such as in the first place (the regular ones) and secondly the bands differs from all the others due to the experience, talented skills they've created through the years and capable of creating some kinda of original songs. I'd like to put Ghost Machinery in last mentioned category.

My faves are: the fast ones "Blinded Eyes", "The Evil Within", "Heaven Or Hell", "From The Edge Of The World", the awesome Gary Moore cover "Out In The Fields" (with vocals of Ville Laihiala from Sentenced!), and a fantastic ballad called "Dreamworld". Cover art, booklet and inlay look wonderful but this release has not the elements on board that thrills my inner conscience.

Maniacs can't get enough of Melodic, Euro Power Metal..."Haunting  Remains" is one to expand your favourite list for sure!  More info about the band info at: www.ghostmachinery.com  or record label: www.soundriotrecords.com   MY POINTS: 83 / 100
