Interview SANITARIUS

A Talk With ROB QUARTARARO

METAL TO INFINITY

Hey Rob, please to meet you brother! Introduce yourself and the rest of the Sanitarius camp?

Hey whats up? Ok lets get this started, Well my name is Rob Quartararo, I'm19 years old and have been playing guitar for 6 years religiously. I guess to make it easier I should just say we are all 19 (lol).

My bassist's name is Stewart Ustick and has been playing bass for 5 years.

On the other guitar is Greg Sammis  whohas also been  playing  for 5 years.

On the drums is Dave Cordero a quick learner who has been playing for a year and a half.

How did everything started? Could you tell me about the forming of Sanitarius?

Sanitarius was formed by  me and Stew after our sort a bootleg band Overload broke up. I got Stew into playing bass, found a drummer and a mutual friend for guitar and we just started from there.

Where do you guys come from? What about the support of the underground Metal scene there Rob?

We are all from New York City. The support of the Metal scene...well lets just say it could be a lot better.

Besides a few samples i've heard on your site, i'm complete unfamiliar with your style of music. The recognition of Thrash Metal is clear but it would be nice if you discribe Sanitarius' style by yourself.

Well it's like bay area Thrash meets Progressive Metal meets Power Metal meets...you get the point.

From where the name Sanitarius? Some stories behind?

Well a friend came up with the name and then after looking it up it turns out it means to cleanse so I guess it's a good way to cleanse some feelings out of us into the music or cleanse peoples minds when they hear it haha.

You guys are US based but what's your meaning about the European Metal scene?

I think the European Metal scene is awesome so many great bands...We'd absolutely love to play in Europe.

To me, the good old 80s Bay Area Thrash Metal movement never coming back. Those were the days my friend, i'll never forget the mighty years. What's your standpoint about that?

It sucks that it's sort a gone but hey we can always try to bring it back ey?

Can you name a few of your faves and do you listen to other forms of Metal too?

Well we listen to a lot of bands like Dragonforce, Megadeth, Sigh, Death, Control Denied, Artillery, Exodus, Annihilator and a ton more.

Sanitarius' releases so far. Be my guide Rob and give some more detailed information about the final results.

Well they are all like impressions of what we were like at that point and time leading up to an album...We are hoping to record an album late this year!

Don't forget to mention where people can order these!

Well you can always email us and ask :)

Do you guys wants to spread a message while playing music. Some things in life that bothers you perhaps?

Yes I think it's important to spread a message when  making  music. The message...people take the world to seriously and I just express that through the music.

All self financed products i suppose, right? Spending a lot of cash to bring out demo's yourself ain't that easy, isn't it?

Yeah they all are unfortunately it's really hard between trying to keep our bands van running and recording on not a lot of money sucks lol.

If you can catch some money back while selling those products, nothing can't go wrong for the band. What's Sanitarius' situation actually?

Trying to spread the word and get people into our stuff. The situation is decent not making to much money enough to eat (lol).

I bet you guys playing Thrash Metal just for having great times being together with the guys, right?

Well not only that we also play cuz we absolutely love music !.

Approachedby a record company so far Rob?

Unfortunately no.

If you had the opportunity organizing a concert inclusive Sanitarius, what kinda bands will be on the bill too? Why?

Bands like Dragonforce, Death (if they were still around), Exodus, Annihilator, etc. all because they are a huge inspiration to us.

Wha tare the plans for the future brother?

Writing, Recording, Drinking, and more writing!

Is there a possibilitie Sanitarius we see you someday on European, especially Belgian ground?

I really hope so if someone picks us up then hell yeah we'll see you there!

Let's hope that may come true Rob! All the best, beat the system and live your own life, no matter what it takes. Any last remarks?

Stay Metal and thanks a lot for the opportunity to be interviewed.
