JOHNNY SMOKE - FOR A DOLLAR

ALLOY RECORDS

METAL TO INFINITY

Johhny Smoke is an American Hard / Classic Rock band in the old school tradition! As for their style of music return we have to go back in time, more specifically towards the late years seventies / early eighties. The band has been playing many gigs around Cetral and Western New York since 1994. People being there those days were the witnesses of something really good, a Rock band with the right attitude delivering the fans' pleasant times during Johnny Smoke' gigs.

They were even this way good in their genre that people in the area gave them the nickname Rockchester's Aerosmith, you know the legendary ones! Well, the time was right to put some songs together for a first album what came through in 2000. Title of that debut beast was ''Crime Don't Pay It'', an album that received very positive reactions which pushed the band to a next level. The way they brought their own way of music to the people was enormously appreciated, even some parts of the songs were used to promote as commercials for the sports programming on radio staions.

Back then, everything went just very well for the guys of J.S.! Great way of friendship and good understanding, founding members Anthony J. Carbone (lefty guitar player), Joe Szembrot (drums), Garrett Crumb (lead vocals since 1996) and bass player Scott Dasson (joined forces in 2001) came together as one with one aim, 'let's make a secong album guys!'. Through Alloy Records, everything is set and done to launch that second album entitled ''For A Dollar like a rocket.

I received the album in advantage, actually the release is to foresee to release in the early week of April 2007! The honour's fully on Metal To Infinity-Belgium to spread the word of it at one of the first...thx to the guys indeed! Produced by Anthony J. Carbone and Joe Szembrot, this ''For A Dollar'' album sounds real amusing, Classic Rock minded and even the Blues Rockers will love this release without problems. From the beginning, there is a lot of veriation enough to call ''For A Dollar'' a produckt of skill discretion, professionalism concerning the entire line. And i'm not speaking only about the music, also the production, lay-out, booklet, inlay, etc...looks very good!

On musical area, i'd like to compare Johnny Smoke's style with an early Alice Cooper with influences not even that far from bands like Poison, Aerosmith, Spread Eagle, Caroline Blue, Led Zeppelin, or Slaughter (USA). Make a mixture of all these, bring on some bluesy feelings and you have approximately the style of Johnny Smoke. Yeah, i know, it's some kinda discription but my heart tells me what to write down at this moment. Ten songs awaits you all and i refuse mentioning the good or the bad songs because the entire album kicks ass, so please no further questions.

If you like Classic Rock or Hard Rock from the early 80s with some bluesy vibes, visit the site of Johnny Smoke guys...that's the only way out to get your own copy. Don't even think about hesitating, just go to
