SHADOW DEMON - 3 track Demo US 2003
METAL TO INFINITY
My personal crusade through the valley of US Metal goes on and on and leads me straight to some awesome bands. With the help of some friends, and ofcourse the internet, i found several bands so far double worth to spread their words of Metal. Some info about these guys i want to share with all those who have a heart for that particular kinda Metal movement. So now, i want to introduce Shadow Demon! A three piece formation from the Seattle area. This is their first effort since days of of existence and these three songs brings us a combination of eighties influenced Bay Area Thrash Metal and Melodic Power Metal.
Mr. Terry Gorle (Heir Apparent) did the mixing / mastering works and what he did is great, no doubt about that. First song "...And the Meek" starts with sort of a voice introduction, followed by a killer riff that ends in an outstanding, US Power Metal song with style, passion, enrgy and an overwhelming 80s attitude. Singer Blaine Hammond's has an original throat that reminds me sometimes of Brian Ross (ex-Satan / Blitzkrieg). This song gives me a real good feeling cause it's so original and very special. Pay attention for the fantastic guitar works on this demo.
Besides full member Jeff Helm, two gust musicians doing their job on the electric guitars and all sounds fantastic, awesome, i haven't words enough to say howgood they are! Second attack is the song " My Eyes Fixed" and i'm fully impressed once again. Musically, i recognize a few Iced Earth or Maiden-alike influences and that's always great to hear, isn't it. If you're looking for the Melodic, more up-tempo part of Shadow Demon, well check out the third song on the demo called "Of The Shadows".
My point of view about this demo is that Shadow Demon have the potential and future in their hands to bring some more fantastic Metal music to the masses. Hopefully, one or another record company will contact these guys to release a full length album in the near future. They deserve it cause they're absolutely great and belongs on top of the new generation of the US Metal movement.
