Timeless is the living evidence the Portoguese Metal scene still lives, very strongfully actually! Five, well skilled musicians found each other to play Metal music in hope to put their name on the map of the international scene. After hearing Timeless' debut album entitled "Dawning Light", they're absolutely reached that goal without problems. One thing is for sure, these guys are real good in its genre which i'd like to call a mixture of Melodic Power and Symphonic Metal with progressive elements here en there.
As i wrote before, one by one loaded with awesome skills that reduces this album to a very pleasant product. Their frontguy Miguel Corte Real sounds superb with his clean, sometimes high pitched vocals in the vein of one of my personal singers, Bobby Lucas (ex-Seven Witches, Overlorde, Exhibition). Also guitar player Ricardo Fernandes gets my appreciation right away. He's a real good axe grinder able to do some wonderful works with his tool. These guys are obviously two very important and most interesting parts in the band. Complaining about the rest of the Timeless camp? Hell no, no single reason reason to do that.
I'm not such a huge fan of keyboard kinda situations but okay, Rui Rocha delivers some works fitting great with the rest of the band. André Almeida's bass guitar sounds technical to the bone and drummer Hugo Ribeiro keeps the rhythms on the right trax. All musicians knowing damn well how to use their personal instrument in a very acceptable way. Timeless music is refreshing, melodic, sometimes epic or melancholic minded variable to the bone.
To compare i'd like to call on a band that listens to the name Exhibition (album "The Sign Of Tomorrow" featuring vocalist Bobby Lucas). You won't regret while listening this "Dawning Light album", only satisfaction assured! They've convinced me with killer songs like: "Reborn Us", "Judgement Day Light", the awesome power ballad "Up Above", "Let It Rain Down", "Magik Inside Of You" and "Cansao Do Mar", sang in their own language.
People looking for a great blend of Sympho / Power / Melodic Metal with high vocals, check out these guys for sure. Timeless is a great band who deserves a fair chance adding its name to the map of the international Metal movement.
