TWELVE GAUGE - THE CITY IS BURNING

ISOTOPE MUSIC

METAL TO INFINITY

Twelve Gauge is an American, four piece Thrash Metal band born out of the ashes of another US act named Warhead but unfortunately, their existence stopped back in 1994. After they broke up, Nick Warhead (vocals / guitar) and Eric Lofquist (guitar) played in several bands but none of them caughts the guys' full attention. In 2001, they met an old brother and ex Warhead member Dan Kobilka (drums) who was searching for a new band those days. Great opportunity for the other guys and all came together as one, like real brothers in Metal.

A first Twelve Gauge album saw the light of day in June 2001 through Isotope Records. Name of the game back then was a blend of old school Thrash Metal, Punk and New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. So far, so good and the guys kept on playing the next couple of years everywhere they were asked. Nate Chambers joined the band after a while. He came aboard to handle the bass lines with pride. From that moment, Twelve Gauge containing four guys who wants to record a brand new album, heavi벬 faster and a lot more aggressive than the things they did in the past. What they want those days became reality and here they are with a new killer one called "The City Is Burning'.

Well, you better hold on very strongfully cause this is a Bay Area Thrash Metal album just like in the good old and almighty days...i mean the eighties!! If you don't know who these guys really are, you should start thinkin' 'this comes straight out of the 80s period' but hell no! It's a new album released in 2005, but sounds like in the days where it all started you know. Back to a time where Metal means Metal and no bullshit. Eight songs of pure violent and aggression without speed limtations, fast forwards and no looking back...this is great and makes my day.

Even the production is eighties minded, no too polished but still good enough to enjoy the entire album. Fast songs with extremely well fitting vocals that reminds me of some of my eighties Thrash Metal acts: At War (Ordered To Kill), Viking (Do Or Die), Sacrifice (Torment In Fire) or demo works of L.S.N and Sanctum or Wargod are reminiscent too. Twelve Gauge gives a shit about the nowadays modern way of Metal music. They like to play in the old school tradition and their new album kicks me in the head right away.

Forming a band with such energy, character and courage is pretty hard to find these days. Twelve Gauge's is an example for all those stupid assholes making some fancy fool songs in hope to conquer the world and grabbing as much as possible cash. This is an old school influenced Thrash Metal band with a lot of potential, gives a damn 'bout the rest and keep the eighties tradition alive and kickin'. People who likes some speed up aggressive Metal music, this is the ultimate opportunity to fulfill all of your needs.
