We're just at the beginning of a new year and a first real revelation is unleashed with the band VII GATES! These Swedish guys will bring you Classic Heavy Metal in its puriest form. So far, so good, they released three demo's and this "Fire, Walks With Me" is their first full length album. It's a killer one to me which means that you better be prepared for some awesome true and true Heavy Metal assault. Top production loaded with an extraordinary amount of melody and filler, a Classic Heavy Metal for at the present time maniacs of that kinda music.
They're able to combine fabulous songwriting with creative melodies in the most mature way. A fantastic singer and some guest musicians such as: Kee Marcello (Europe), Chriss Amott (Arch Enemy, Armageddon,... Chriss is one of my favorite guitar players at the moment), Stefan Ingelstrand & Apollo from Time Requiem/Meduza, Janne Stark (Locomotive Breath) and Tommy Denader from Radioactive. With such as line up, it hardly can't go wrong anyway. This Sound Riot Records release is recorded at Slaughterhouse Studios in Sweden by Mr.Rickard Bengtsson, well know as the shouter from Last Tribe!
It's a top pleasant album with a typical eighties feeling and that's what i like...always was and it definitely be that way till the end of my days. A few strongly recommended songs are: "Bounded By Hate", "The Saviour", "The MadmanInside", "Seconds Left To Live" and the magnificent power ballad entitled "So Far Away". Actually, the entire album is great, amazing and amusing stuff if you're into Classic Heavy Metal.
