Total honour is on my site spreading the word of a Cleveland based band named Wretch! Basicly formed back in the early eighties and after so many years these guys are back with a vengeance, actually a true storm of steel. Only two members remains from the original line-up named Nick Giannakos (guitar and also member of Breaker) and Colin Watson (vocals). They got company of current and former members of Beyond Fear, Seven Witches and the almighty US Metal gods Breaker.
With the help of Bill Peters (head of Auburn Records USA) who delivered magnificent Metal releases for many, many years...one of those works was the Heavy Artillery compilation. People familiar with these compilations definitely knowing very well only True US Metal maniacs were allowed. One of the featuring bands fulfilling that Heavy Artillery compilation was Wretch. With a different singer, the band featured with a song called "Life". Overwhelmed with the results, Bill Peters planned to give Wretch some exposure in the form of recording a full length album.
No words but deeds, those plans became reality and with the help of producer Don Depew (guitar player Breaker) the album came across the Metal horizons a few weeks ago. Now well, first things first...i'm impressed to the extreme with "Reborn". As a longtime Classic US Metal defender, this is THE revelation of the moment without a doubt to me! US Power / Heavy Metal, full of eighties influences and played with a dynamic force...absolutely awesome. Vocals of Colin Watson sounds phenomenal, clear, stable and powerful as can be. Even his high-pitching are superb and reminiscent of masters like Dave Wayne (ex-Metal Church), Bobby Lucas (ex-Seven Witches / Overlorde), Rob Halford and so on.
Nothing but great frontmen are allowed to compare with the voice of Colin. Both guitar players of Wretch playing their fingers to the bone while moving up and down the fretboard the ultimate fantastic way! Bass and Drum sections, well no reason to complain at all. Nothing but positive words to the address of the entire line-up. Influenced early Metal Church, Iron Maiden, Commander, Heretic, Powerlord..."Reborn" is completed with nothing but heights, all is perfect here to me. All we need is a dose of lethal, Classic Metal to feel ourselves real good, don't we!?
Well, all those full Metal pleasures are offered by a band called Wretch on a debut album called "Reborn", a title that perfectly fits with the band's background. Satisfied to the exreme with this product and surely recommended to all True US Heavy / Power maniacs. Sorry, due to this release is so damn great, no particular favorite songs to mention this time. This work means a complete perfection to me so GET IT NOW real fast.
